01 · Track record

Numbers, plainly stated.

A decade of commercial work in regulated, cross-border B2B. If selling into a sector with a 98% consumer trust gap does not sharpen your discipline, nothing does.

A note from the author

Paul Nilsen-Borrell

Middelburg · March 2026

“There is a gap at the heart of the European cannabis industry.”

Not a gap in the science. Not a gap in the market. The gap is in the conversation.

Women’s hormonal health, the endocannabinoid system, and the extraordinary potential of plant-based cannabinoid formulations have not been brought together in a way that serves the women who need them.

Introduction · Icelandic Elements whitepaper, March 2026.

02 · The market case

A category that medicine has undertreated, and industry has underserved.

The conditions covered in the whitepaper affect hundreds of millions of women. The clinical evidence for cannabinoid intervention is maturing. The regulatory infrastructure in Europe is moving. The commercial gap is specific, and it is open.

03 · What I do

Four threads, one practice.

i.

Cross-border B2B sales

Remote B2B revenue across twenty-four European markets. Multi-stakeholder deals, long cycles, regulated sectors. Currently open to Account Executive, Business Development, Partner Manager, and Head of European Sales roles for UK, US, and EU-headquartered companies.

ii.

Commercial strategy and market entry

Through PJNB Holding B.V., I consult brands and operators on EU market entry, distribution, compliance navigation, white and private label manufacturing, and cross-border commercial structures. Bias toward the regulated wellness and FMCG sector.

iii.

Research and whitepaper development

Evidence-based synthesis, clinical framework development, and commissioned thought leadership. The 2026 Icelandic Elements whitepaper is the reference case, written to bring researchers, clinicians, formulators, and investors to the same table.

iv.

Advisory and speaking

Founder-level advisory, trade-show and conference appearances, and editorial contributions for industry publications. Recent invitations include ICDC, European women’s wellness collectives, and industry radio and magazine features.

Feature · Research initiative

Icelandic Elements

Women’s Wellness: Cannabinoids, Icelandic Botanicals, and a New Therapeutic Frontier. A synthesis of clinical research on the endocannabinoid system, emerging pharmacological evidence, Icelandic botanical science, and insights from leading clinicians working in this field.

Whitepaper · March 2026

“Education beats hype, and quality always surfaces eventually.”

· Opening inscription, Icelandic Elements

Scope

The female ECS, nine Icelandic botanicals, compounding ingredients, formulation and regulatory pathways.

Intended reader

Clinical practitioners, formulators, researchers, and women’s health advocates.

04 · About Paul

Arrived on a motorcycle. Stayed for the work.

London-born, based in Middelburg, operating across the UK, Europe, and North America. I arrived in the Netherlands on a motorcycle. No relocation package, no safety net, just a relationship worth following and the conviction that the best opportunities are built, not handed to you.

Six years of cross-border B2B sales followed, across some of the most regulated, sceptical, and fragmented markets in the continent. My practice sits where clinical science meets operator structure: helping brands move medicinal-grade product through compliant channels, and speaking on the case for cannabinoid therapeutics in women’s health.

Long before the deals, I was closing gaps between people. Downhill luge, longboard racing, semi-professional darts, cricket, spoken-word poetry. I have captained most of the teams I have played on, and the lesson is always the same: the captain is rarely the most talented person on the pitch. The role is reading people and making sure the right person has the ball at the right moment.
